The entire process from preview to approval is covered by a transparent workfl ow. It‘s a familiar story. The document’s finished, the PDFs of the foreign-language versions have been with the customer (foreign representative, etc.) for some time. And the corrections have just come back as a PDF. What now?
The classic case: All of the corrections are readable and can be entered using copy and paste. But this is by no means a trivial job, particularly when you’re dealing with a 12-page document (maybe in multiple languages, not all of which you understand). And then there’s the time factor… And the approval for printing… And when you’ve entered the corrections, does the whole process have to repeated?
The more problematic case: The correction PDFs were printed out and the corrections handwritten on the hard copy, which was then faxed, scanned or shipped back per courier. What’s worse, you might be dealing with all this in Russian, Czech and Chinese. In other words, it’s a lot of work and costs a lot of money. Not to mention a way of working that, given the time pressure normal in the business, pushes many people to their limits. Especially with an immovable printer’s deadline coming up.
